About Royal Porthcawl
Founded in 1891, Royal Porthcawl is one of Wales’s most historic golf clubs. The course is laid out on a gentle slope running down towards the shore, providing open views across the Bristol Channel and allowing the coastal conditions to influence play from beginning to end.
Its firm terrain, strategic bunkering and exposure to the wind create a demanding but varied round. Royal Porthcawl has established an international reputation and forms a prominent part of golf itineraries based around Bridgend and the Vale of Glamorgan.
